Hi, Is anyone else having problems with getting their medication? I went to the doctors to get a repeat prescription but was told I couldn't have it because it was too expensive and I would have to get it from my consultant. When I rang my consultant he said there was no reason for my doctor not to pay for it and to go back to him. I have been going back and forward for weeks and I am beginning to think that it would be easier for me to pay for it myself. I wouldn't mind but it works out to be £13 a month not a lot in my opinion especially as my Dad's medication for diabetes costs alot more and there is no query about paying for that (it's the same doctor). Any ideas on what I should do.

I would certainly take this further. If your consultant has put you on meds to help you then there should be no reason why your Dr should refuse this. Maybe take it up with the practise manager. Dont take no from your Dr...you have been prescribed these drugs for a reason...tell him you will take this further and ask for deails of who you can make a complaint to.

Hi Dawn, like David says, take this further, you need these drugs ,no matter how expensive they are.
Without them you would be very ill indeed.
How dare they say that to you, they havnt got to go through the pain you have to.

Dooohhh, its makes me so angry.

P.S hi David.
