Hi people,

Has anyone had a stem cell transplant to treat their Crohns disease? I've had Crohns for 16 years, been on every medication known to exist and had 3 operations, but nothing helps me.

I've now been referred to a university, to a professor who studies Crohns disease, and he has recommended I have a stem cell transplant. As it is not a mainstream treatment for Crohns, I'm having difficulty finding any information from anywhere about what to expect and if it is worth the risk of what I will need to put my body through.

Hope someone, somewhere can help. Thanks
